Little Richard's Smokehouse BBQ / Yadkinville, NC

Today’s road-trip lunch stop on the way to the mountains was Little Richards Smokehouse BBQ in Yadkinville, right off of US 601. How was it? Meh.

The pork lacked any hint of smoke or any notion of a liquid of any kind having ever been introduced at any point of the cook. Saying it was “dry” would be a compliment. Had to douse it liberally with their BBQ sauce (which is pretty dang good, I must say) to make it worth my while and to make the meat somewhat edible enough to choke down. At least it was all good meat w/o gristle or overly fatty. The white slaw (which the server recommended over their red slaw) was hella dry as well without mayo or any kind of fluid at all. It was basically raw, salty chopped cabbage. Blech.

The sides were really wonderful and the BBQ chicken my younger son, Dylan, ordered was quite tasty. Do I ever need to stop again? Nah. Sandwich: 3/10 Sides: 9/10
