Duke's Grill in Monroe has one of the best burgers in all of North Carolina. My perfect burger is Johnson’s in Siler City (as most of y'all know by my constant praise of the Chatham County landmark) and this burger from Duke's comes pretty damn close. If the patty itself had a tad more of that crispy charred edge like a Johnson’s patty, then we might be having a more serious discussion of which is my top burger between these two legends of beef. Chili and slaw, baby! Carolina burger! Bam! If in the area, Duke’s is a “must” for any and every burger lover. 9.25/10.
